Like many agents, I regularly get email links to sites that mention my authors, my agency, or myself. Today I found this nice mention of SAVING ZOE by Alyson Noel, from author Amanda Ashby, and this review of DEVILISH by Maureen Johnson from Trashionista. But I also love to follow the references and see where they lead, hoping to find something great to post about.
Reasons to write YA

Thanks to Rexroth for this link to Cory Doctorow on BoingBoing, talking about YA sections in bookstores. He writes, "Living in a space that no one watches too closely is one of the secret ways that people get to do excellent stuff."
Normally, it just isn't "done" for an author to complain loudly and publicly about a review. HOWEVER, if said review is about other writers' books? And if the reviewer goes so far to say that "I sometimes wonder how any self-respecting author of speculative fiction can find fulfillment in writing novels for young readers." Well, then authors are inclined to get mad, and say so in public ((or on the blogosphere, which is pretty much the same thing).
