Welcome to New Client, Samantha San Miguel!

Please help us give a warm welcome to kt literary’s newest client, Samantha San Miguel!

I am beyond excited to welcome Samantha into the kt literary family. Her historical middle grade adventure set in the late 1800’s follows a young boy with debilitating to asthma to the lush jungles of Florida with his mother and brother, and the unlikely Grand Hotel there promising rest and relaxation. Here he learns about a curse that is hurting local sea creatures and meets a handful of unique and whimsical characters: the daughters of the hotel’s owner, a snide animal poacher, circus performers, and a family of octopi that are more than what they seem. This book is full of adventure, whip-smart prose, hilarious dialogue, and characters you won’t want to leave when the last page is turned. I fell in love pretty much instantly.

Samantha San Miguel usually goes by “Sam,” although “Samwise the Stouthearted” is always acceptable. Growing up in South Florida with the ocean on one side and Indian River Lagoon on the other gave her an enduring fascination for wildlife, especially the kind that can eat you. Author by day, critical care nurse by night, she loves listening to her patients tell stories at 2AM. You can find her online at samanthasanmiguel.com.
