if it’s too difficult for grown-ups, write for children

Welcome to New Client, Rebecca Mahoney!

Please help us give a warm welcome to kt literary’s newest client, Rebecca Mahoney!

I am so excited to welcome Rebecca into kt literary family. Her speculative YA takes the reader across the empty Nevada desert to a small, impossible town broadcasting a message that couldn’t possibly exist. It’s a spooky tale that takes us into that strange little desert town and helps a girl find the true heart of the trauma in her past. It had me absolutely captivated from page one.

Rebecca Mahoney is a 2017 Emerging Writer Fellow at the Writers’ Room of Boston. She writes young adult and middle grade fiction, and spins oceanic folklore with her cowriter Alex Brown on the original, independent audio drama, The Bridge Podcast. She studied Creative Writing at Brandeis alongside Japanese language and literature, and spent three years in the world of US-Japan relations in Washington DC, where she learned formal Japanese, spent a memorable evening in a diplomatic entourage, and poured a lot of coffee. (These days, she only pours coffee if you ask nicely.)

She currently works in academia, and spends her spare time cursing sailors at sea.

You can find her on Twitter – feel free to drop her a line and say congrats!
