I’m typing this on Christmas Eve, ready to cue Die Hard up on the TV and settle in for some holiday viewing, all of our presents already wrapped and nestled under the tree. But perhaps YOU still have some shopping to do. If so, I can happily suggest three fabulous seasonal reads for your last minute gift-giving! For middle grade readers, NUTCRACKED by Susan Adrian explores the magic of the Nutcracker ballet story. For contemporary YA fans, the perennial classic LET IT SNOW by John Green, Maureen Johnson, and Lauren Myracle ties three stories together in a teen Love, Actually (without the problematic parts). And for YA fans of fantasy and contemporary romance, try MY TRUE LOVE GAVE TO ME, edited by Stephanie Perkins, for all your holiday needs — from Hanukkah through Christmas and onto New Year’s Eve.
All of the links above go to Kindle editions of the books, so you can buy the book, and have it magically appear on the lucky reader’s device. But of course, you can also buy hard copies at your favorite local bookstore, or shop for digital editions wherever you prefer.
The point, I think, is in choosing to give someone a book. Picking out a story that you love, that you think they may love, and being able to share it with a friend or family member. That’s the true spirit of the season here at KT Literary, and I hope it is for you as well.
Merry merry and happy holidays to all of you. I’m eternally grateful for an amazing team of agents here, for Sara, Renee, Hannah, and Hilary, and for the authors and clients who make our work not just possible, but joyful.
We’ll be closed all next week to dive into our reading piles, and look forward to seeking and finding even more great books in 2018.
