I’m thrilled to welcome talented author, Terrance Jefferson, to the KT Literary family! I fell in love with Terrance’s query, his story, and his reasons for writing THE NIGHT OF THE WASPS, a dynamic YA urban fantasy set in inner-city Hartford. It combines the grit of urban life with the fanciful sensibilities of the fantasy genre.
When our protagonist, Nazae, discovers that his beloved foster sister has been entranced and kidnapped he must team up with a guild of unexpected allies that include the niece of a storefront psychic and an albino obsessed with solving mysteries to travel to Castillar and unravel the secrets behind the town’s tragic past. If they fail, Nazae may never see Rayla again.
Growing up in Hartford, Connecticut, Terrance was a quiet kid who always had an affinity for the written word. He was able to develop his craft in New York, earning his MFA at The New School and studying under a diverse blend of professors that include David Levithan, Tiphanie Yanique, and Tor Seidler. He currently resides in the Boston area where he is a high school history teacher.
Once again, welcome, Terrance, we’re happy you’re a part of KT and I’m thrilled to help bring this story into the world!
