So I’m looking ahead to my calendar for 2012, planning out trips, and I think I’ve got some open spaces for conferences! I’ll be going to Florida in late January for the Space Coast Writers Conference, then Bologna is in mid-March. BEA is in New York in early June, and ALA is in Anaheim in late June. After that, I’m completely open! I would LOVE to go back to LA in August for the SCBWI conference, but maybe YOU know of other events going on that are looking to have an agent come speak? I’m very reasonable!
Sorry for the sudden drop off in posting last week, but the official opening of BEA came with a flurry of work, and meetings, and hastily made appointments, and free books, and more. Hectic, even if it seemed more sedate than the most recent New York-based BEA. For me, of course, it was a nice, easy flight from Denver to LA, and only one hour adjustment to make — easy-peasy. For my New York colleagues — not so much. I had a very informative, useful fair, though, and am happy to share some of my impressions.
Borrowed Rexroth’s car last night to drive on up to Boulder to meet with the writers of Murphy’s Fiction Collective, a group of creative souls who gather with some regularity in a local Boulder bar. They were the hosts, along with other local writers and creative types, of a fun networking party for the local writing/publishing community.
I’m a little late with my blog post for the day, but I was busy earlier making plans for a little wine reception I’m hosting with fellow Denver agent Kristin Nelson for the editors and librarians who’ll be coming to town later this month for ALA Midwinter. If you’re an editor or librarian who’s going to be in town, we’d love to see you!
