Popping in from fulltime mommyhood to post this link to Chasing Ray’s brilliant and thorough review of what happens when a feminist magazine posts a list of 100 great books for teen readers, then caves to pressure and revises the list. Smart Bitches, Trashy Books has a great post on the subject as well, as does John Scalzi.
Feel free to take to the comments to discuss! As for me, I’m moving Tender Morsels to the top of my TBR pile. You know, for during those 2am feedings.

Wow. Thanks for taking a few moments away from BabyUn to post this! I completely missed all of this when it happened. One thing's for sure, now I have to read the books they took off the list. If there's one way to ensure a book gets read, its by creating controversy about it.
Oh and congratulations! I saw the picture of Beau in the bear suit and that's probably the cutest thing I've ever seen!
Definitely worth paying attention to. If you stand for something, you should stand firm.
If any one book belongs on a list of feminist literature, it is Tender Morsels. And it is at heart a book about mothering. But it is a brave, clear-eyed look at issues women (still) face. I hope you enjoy it.
