Guys, I need a little pick-me-up. This whole house-hunting/renovation decision is beginning to wear me out. So help me cheer up, please! Show me where you work, and help inspire me to think about possibly decorating a new office space for kt literary.
I was going to offer a copy of Sara Beitia‘s debut novel The Last Good Place of Lily Odilon as a prize for sharing pics of your work space, but I don’t think I ever even announced the winner of the last contest I ran! So, first, the winner of a galley of Ellen Booraem‘s Small Persons with Wings is…
Karen! Karen, send me an email at contests@ktliterary.com with your mailing address, and I’ll send Ellen’s galley off to you!
And with that done — no random numbers here! The most swoon-worthy work space will win a hot-off-the-presses copy of The Last Good Place of Lily Odilon as soon as they come in! You have all week to enter, so get to posting!

My office looks like fried poop right now, so I'm not entering, but has there ever been a prettier, more cheerful office than Laini's?

Good luck with the house decisions!
This will take some creativity on my part, I should think…considering I usually just sit on my messy un-made bed to write…
I know, I'm a bed-writer (not bed-wetter!), too, so you don't want to see it!!
Darn, I would really like to win that book. Want a picture of my bedroom? I'm not sure it's swoon-worthy, but….

I don't even have an office to write in. I write in the dining room because once our second kid came along, there wasn't a spare room to be an office anymore. And my office at work was once used as a set for a 1950s mental hospital, so will not be making anyone swoon. Picture a narrow concrete bunker with no windows and you have it in a nutshell.
Here's where I write:

Renovations are so stressful, but so worth it in the end. Hang in there!
This is what my writing space looks like right now:

We're in the middle of moving. It's not pretty around here.
Not that it's all that pretty when we're NOT moving, though- my writing space consists of the hand-me-down couch my father-in-law gave us, and my laptop, which sits on what should be a seat for my keyboard. Just TRY to stop yourself from swooning!
Funny you should ask! I just did a post about my super-awesome writing desk:

I'm really digging taking a peek at everyone else's writing digs!

It's just simple, nothing fancy.
Yay! I won! Awesome! I'll email right away. And trust me, you don't want to a picture of my office. You want to call the authorities on me if I exposed it. LOL.
A peek at my writing space (I don't have an office, per se)

Good luck with the redecorating! I gave my home office a makeover a few months ago, but it took me about a year to collect everything.

I love seeing everyone else's spaces!
What a fun contest! I will probably enter, but before I take a picture I need to tidy up my desk a little!
My writing space is pretty random – I call it my office, but it also has some bookshelves, and a couple dressers, since the bedroom isn't very big! Also, my cat sleeps in it all the time.
Good luck with the house-hunting/renovation decision!
When we moved two years ago after anguishing over the renovate versus move question, we finally had a space we could use as a home office. We opted for a big table for our workspace instead of a traditional desk and it has worked really well, since I share this space with three kids and my husband. The only drawback is trying to stay focused when my teen is having a chat session on oovoo across the table from me…
Here's a pic of our office space. We also wrangled with the renovate vs. move decision, and ultimately decided we needed more space. We opted for a big tabletop with workstations instead of a traditional desk, since I share the space with my three kids and husband. This space is in constant use, and is a setup that works really well for us (except when I am trying to work and my daughter is across the table on oovoo…).
The container store has great ideas for office spaces even if you don't buy what they sell. If you stay and renovate I would try their design ideas for an office.
