I was going to do a recap of last night’s #askAgent session on Twitter, but there’s already a transcript posted here, so I will just tell you to go check it out!
In other news, though, Kirkus reviewed Maureen Johnson‘s Scarlett Fever, and they loved it! I quote:
The sequel measures well above its predecessor in this hilarious follow-up to Suite Scarlett (2008), which first introduced the eccentric, New York-dwelling Martin family. Picking up just a few weeks later, Scarlett is still convincingly nursing a broken heart and being run ragged by her employer, Mrs. Amberson, who has ambitions of becoming an agent. […] Readers will have to read the first to understand this one, and the decidedly cliffhanger conclusion will ensure they are left in fevered anticipation of the next.
Woot!

Thanks Kate for the link to the transcript. Too bad I couldn't follow it. 🙁
Well I'm off now to study my Twitter for Dummies book to see if I can make sense of it all. I was suprised, though, to see a chapter on finding a unique voice for your tweets. Eek! I just found my voice for my novel (which apparently I'd lost under a snow bank), and now I have to have a tweet voice? *starts bawling*
Maybe I'll just read Scarlett Fever instead. 😀
I can hardly wait to get my hands on this book! Yay!
Maureen's book looks fantastic! My eyes are blurred after reading the Twitter chat — I really need to learn how to Twitter at some point. Thanks for posting it for those of us who are impaired. 🙂
The only thing I don't agree with is the part about how it measures well above its predecessor. They are BOTH bloody awesome. 😀 Also good to know everyone's eagerly anticipating Scarlett 3. AS AM I!
I really liked Suite Scarlett, but Scarlett Fever had me cracking up and saying, "You're going to love this!" to my daughter. I read it in one day!
I absolutely cannot wait to read this. I got Suite Scarlett for Christmas after having picked up 13 Little Blue Envelopes on a whim. Love Maureen Johnson!
That's a fantastic review! I can't wait to read it!
I read Suite Scarlett from the free download and loved it! I will definitely buy Scarlett Fever.
For those struggling with the twitter chat…
use tweetchat or tweetdeck to follow the chat or you will never keep up. I use tweetchat because I can set the refresh rate to slow down and can pause so I can get caught up. It's still fast and furious but manageable.
These askagent sessions are a wonderful opportunity and I highly recommend them. Thanks Kate for volunteering your time. I am always surprised at how many pros are willing to sacrifice family time to answer questions.
So glad they loved it! That's such a great review. I'm currently listening to Suite Scarlett on audiobook, and I can't wait to get to the sequel!
