An “About My Query” blog! For those of you who are recent readers of my blog, this is a close look at an author’s query — any genre, any age range — with comments on it by me, as well as all of you! Now, I would never post an query without an author’s permission, so I don’t use just any random query sitting in my mailbox. No, in order to get into this space, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject line “About My Query” followed by the title of your book being queried. For a look at some previous entries, check out the archives. If I get enough, we’ll look at queries all next week!
So I came across the following article in my Google Reader, from the Editors of the Children’s Book Insider (where a special Ask Daphne! column appears quarterly!). Anyway, the article asks “Do You Need a Literary Agent?” And it raises a number of good points, as well as making a few statements I disagree with, so I thought I’d go over a few of those.
