So this week marks the official publication of Ellen Booraem’s debut middle grade novel The Unnameables (she of the starred review from Kirkus and Junior Library Guild Selection). And if you check out this neat book trailer, you’ll see that in the world of The Unnameables, each person on Island is named for what they do. So, I thought we could have a little fun today.
If you lived on Island, what would your name be? I’d be Kate Reader. Or Kate Shopper. So have at it! And if someone else grabs your name and you’re not actually related to them, get creative!

Grats to Ellen Writer! Grats to Kate Optimist!
Love, De Dreamer 🙂
I would be Trish Slacker.
Hmm…probably Josie Procrastinator. Is that a job?
Unnameables is a great book! I really enjoyed it.
Me? I'd be Jean Of A Thousand Jobs
Oh, gosh, I already have that name.
Mama!
I'd probably be Carrie Amuses-Herself. Sad but all too true.
I like "Ellen Writer"–much more sensible vowel combinations than the real…er,the Mainland version.
Thanks for the nod, Kate!
Ellen Booraem
What fun! I would be Julia Too Many Pets or Julia Nose-in-Book – but, for now I need to be Julia Writer!
