I’m thrilled to share the following announcement from Publishers Marketplace
Trish Doller’s UNBECOMING, a roadtrip across America that starts as a punishment and becomes a romantic adventure, to Claudia Gabel at Delacorte, in a nice deal, by Kate Schafer at kt literary (NA).
This is the first official deal for kt literary, and Trish and I are super-excited. No pub date yet, but I’m sure we’ll have lots of news to share as time goes on.
In honor of the sale, I’m hosting an all ska music day at kt literary (It’ll all be explained in time). My iPod is tuned to No Doubt, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, and Reel Big Fish. I’m sure Trish would have other suggestions, and I hope she’ll add them in the comments. What’s your celebratory music?

Wow! Congratulations to you and to Trish!
Congratulations! There will be many more, I am sure.
My celebration music, oddly, tends to be Meat Loaf. Loud, exuberant, and a guy who always uses his own (distinctive, bizarre, amazing) voice and themes no matter what anyone says. I was, in fact, just out running errands and singing along in the car. Why not, right? 🙂
Yikes, I was gone all day and missed all the fun!
Kate, congratulations to YOU and thank you! Now, onto the ska… The Slackers are the best traditional ska for any occasion, but most definitely for celebrating. They're easy to find on itunes. Another favorite is The Moon Invaders. Not as easy to find, but worth the effort. (I do love all those bands you mentioned, but my tastes run more old school.) And my non-ska celebration choices are Bedouin Soundclash and Beat Union.
Yay! Congratulations!
Congratulations to you both! Yay!
