I had tea with GalleyCat the other day (and the mental image of a tabby cat sipping from a china cup springs immediately to mind), and this nice, albeit revealing article about the depths of my geekiness is the result. Please also note yet another reason to reject an author (now sadly unavailable to me for future submissions):
I told him I preferred to date him rather than represent him.

Awww. That's so cute!
Oh man, you made me wistful, but not for love.
I really miss City of Heros. Once the Villains mod came out, I was obsessed.
One day I looked down ant the "time in game" clock. Depressing. I asked myself how many novels I could have written during that same amount of time.
I swore off MMRPORGs.
And now that I've been away from gaming as long as I'd been in, I know the answer: Four. Four novels.
But I miss Everquest and CoH the way an ex-smoker wistfully inhales the scent of a stranger's Marlboro. Sigh. Good times. Good times.
I love your story!
Plus, I already thought your site was cool with the blog and everything, but you also play(ed?) City of Heroes? I'm a huge fan of the game. I know I'm outing myself as a closet geek here, but my husband and I got two accounts so we could play together.
Nice to know I'm not the only *real* woman playing! 🙂
It's easy to spot "real" women playing City of Heros.
They are the ones who create female avatars that don't have boobs at the maximum setting.
BTW, good luck getting moved in this weekend, Ms. Kate. Hope all your furniture isn't in one of the upside-down tractor-trailers I passed on my way into work this morning.
