Huzzah! Hooray! Hullaballoo!

March 7th, 2013 • Kate

fireworksCongratulations to Maureen Johnson, whose latest Shades of London novel THE MADNESS UNDERNEATH debuts at #6 on the New York Times bestseller list! Wahooooooo!

MJ’s out here in Colorado with me now, after her final tour stop at The Tattered Cover in Highlands Ranch, and we spent yesterday motoring between five different bookstores across the state to sign stock. So if you’re here in Colorado with me, and didn’t get your pre-ordered copy of MADNESS, you can stop into the aforementioned Tattered Cover, the Boulder Bookstore in Boulder, or the B&Ns in Boulder, Lakewood, Downtown Denver, or Lone Tree.

Plus! Since I’m feeling generous, I will give a galley or finished copy of MADNESS, along with a set of stickers, to one person who comments here, and to one person who reblogs this post on Tumblr. It’s all about sharing the wealth around here this week.

More good news to come.

EDITED TO ADD: I forgot to get MJ to sign the galleys I had, so all prizes will be unsigned. But perhaps I can add a little something else to make it worth your while to enter…

Maureen makes me feel all the feels everyday and I could not thank her enough. As a stay at home mom of three year old twins, my life is busy, messy, and all around mind boggling. Thru the day her twitter feed is something to look forward to as I clean up the last spilled glass of milk or pick up the markers that were some how extracted from the craft cabnet while I was not looking. At night after I get everyone off to bed I can't wait to sit down with one of her books, a cup of tea, my fluffy pink blanket, and my two kitties who I am pretty sure can read. Why else would they insist on sitting between me and the book? I have to admit I tend to fall asleep after one chapter, Not because of lack of content but, because I am a mom of three year old twins and that makes a girl tired.

Oh, yay! I'm super excited to read this book. I love wrecking myself with books, and hers always do the trick.

Yay for Maureen – how exciting!!! I just got her last book, but I have to admit that it's in a rather large TBR pile. *blush* I wish her awesome success now and in the future!
(Don't put me in the contest 'cause I live too far away.)

I borrowed THE NAME OF THE STAR from the library. I liked it so much that I had to either buy a copy or lie to the desk clerk and “lose it” after accruing horrific late fees. To keep my conscience clear, I went for option one (and apologized to the scary, judgmental librarian as I paid off my fines). I’m so excited for the sequel!

I loved Name of the Star and I can't wait to read Madness Underneath. If I had been paying attention I would have sent my cousin (who lives outside Denver) to a B&N for a signing.
