This YouTube video went around the interwebs this weekend, but in case you missed it, I’m embedding it here.
Want to make an agent wince? Quote this. Or worse? Think that one pink guy makes some pretty good points.

I've watched this three times now. It's hilarious in its cringe-worthiness
I know that guy!
This should be on your homepage with the caption: "If you can identify with the "writer" in this video, please don't query me."
Hilarious.

lol. scary and laughable, and oh-so-true. thanks for my first laugh of the day.
I love the cat creature in blue. "I have a gun in my car. I'm going to go get it now."
Ouch…oh the pain…
Hi,
Thank you for posting the video on your blog! It's been really exciting to see so many people respond to it so positively.
Like many of us, I've been at the novel-writing game for a few years, hopefully getting better with each manuscript, and hopefully staying up on how the business works. That's largely where the idea for the script came from — seeing how hard the vast majority of people work at this, and then blinking in disbelief when we come across someone like our little pink friend in the video. I thought it would make for a funny exchange.
I'm amazed how many people have commented on various blogs about how true to life this exchange has been for them personally, because it was simply meant to be funny, not "ripped from the headlines."
I could go on and on (and I have been known to), but I will just add that I'm really very appreciative for the response — for an unknown writer, this kind of exposure is what we dream about.

Wait … that's not how it happens? (kidding) 🙂
OMG I meet wannabe writers like this all the time! THose who believe that it's really really easy to break into publishing.
"Please don't query me if you've done what was mentioned in the video to literary agents."
Thank you. Reblogging now.
I've met so many people like this. It's sad, and aggravating. Mostly aggravating.
