There’s been lots of serious talk about book covers recently, so let’s have a little fun today, shall we? I’m totally stealing my idea for this post from the Alien Onions, who blogged:
CREATE YOUR DEBUT YA COVER1 – Go to Fake Name Generator. The name that appears is your author name.
2 – Go to Random Word Generator. The word listed under “Random Verb” is your title.
3 – Go to FlickrCC. Type your title into the search box. The first photo that contains a person is your cover.
4 – Use Photoshop, Picnik, or similar (I use Snagit Editor) to put it all together. Be sure to crop and/or zoom in, as desired.
5 – Post it to your site along with this text.
Mine’s above. What’s yours? Link to it in the comments. And just to make it interesting, Intern Jenny will pick her favorite cover to win a copy of Alyson Noel’s #1 New York Times bestseller Blue Moon.
Let your inner artist shine forth!

I did this a couple of days ago, and actually like how it turned out, which never happens for me in these things:

Well, I spent time on this I should have been spending on my novel, but it was fun. Here's my link. If the first one doesn't work, try the second.

I don't write YA, but I did have fun doing this little under cover project.
And playing along was the least I could do after yesterday's Querytracker Blog post. =)

Really? That's beyond awesome!
BTW, sorry you're in black-and-white, but I only used official blog/profile pics (it seemed a smidge less stalkerish that way. *snort* )

Wow! What interesting covers. Mine is here: http://westofbabylon.blogspot.com/2009/07/fake-bo....
My muse is having all sorts of fun with the image I was lucky enough to get. She loves the verb, too. Hm.

This was too fun. My result was…um…I don't know how well it would sell. Actually, if it was a YA, that would be rather frightening.
Here it is:

Oh, I should mention that there was "nothing found" for my verb on FlickCC, so I went to Google images instead.

This was fun, and since I'm studying graphic design and thinking about book covers as something I'd like to do when I've finished my degree it was good to get some practice.

I had fun doing this. I saw the word, found the picture, and nearly groaned I was so unenthused. And then… magic! Photoshop is my hero.
