Let It Snow review

October 21st, 2008 • Kate

Trashionista loves Let it Snow by John Green, Maureen Johnson, and Lauren Myracle, and calls all three stories “wintery, Christmassy, funny, gripping and romantic.” Are any of my readers fellow nerdfighters who’ve read the book for themselves? What did you think?

I SO want to read this book! Unfortunately, I recently moved across the country and haven't started my new job yet so I'm a little low on book buying funds. For some reason, my library here didn't purchase it. I'm in the infamous Multnomah County library system too, a usually fabulous library system– how did this slip through the cracks? I can't figure out if it's because it didn't come up on people's snap lists or if the multiple authors threw off automatic purchasing of any one of these authors' books.
    It looks so fun!

I picked up Let It Snow the day it came out and absolutely fell in love with it. The first part was my favorite and made me laugh out loud more times than I can count. The second part had my favorite couple–the second I met the characters I wanted those two together. Probably more than any couple in any of my fandoms…and that's saying something. The third part was fun to see how everything came together so nicely, even if I wasn't the biggest fan of the main character, I still liked it.
I wanted to review Let It Snow for my last book review in the school newspaper, but I decided to wait until it was a bit closer to Christmas & did an article on banned books week instead. Once December gets here though I will certainly be doing a review of Let It Snow.

While MJ's story was my favorite of the three (althought I might be slightly baised), I really really loved reading a romance by John Green!
