Recent Reads

I know, it’s kind of crazy to read TWO WHOLE BOOKS so close to each other, but as authors who’ve been getting emails from me on their manuscripts can attest, I’ve been doing my work reading, too. So late the other night, when I should have been sleeping, I finished Curse of the Spellmans by Lisa Lutz. Close readers of the blog will remember I thought Lutz’s first Spellman novel The Spellman Files was particularly witty, and I still felt the same with the second. The main character was a bit out of control in her own life, and it led to a few situations where you wanted to reach into the book and shake some sense into her, but it allowed for a completely satisfying conclusion.
I still have two library books out, but an unexpected trip this weekend means I probably won’t be getting much reading done, and if do, it will be work. I’ll keep you posted!

2 library books. Haha. I have 20 library books checked out (well, fifteen books and five DVDs). Of course, I am not a literary agent who is reading unpubbed stuff in my work time as well as my spare time.
Don't you just love a public library, though? ๐Ÿ˜€
