Beach Books

| | Comments (4)

kt literary will be off on a short vacation tomorrow through Tuesday, taking in some sun, some sand, some cervezas, and some beach reading. What's on the pile?

Combined with my Kindle reading, that ought to keep me busy for a few days. And if not, I can always download something new.

See you when I get back! And while I'm gone, feel free to send me your questions, and tell me what would be on your list of beach books, if you were packing today.

I just got "I Was Told There'd Be Cake" - so that is number 1 on my list. Others are...

2. Confessions of a Jane Austen Addict by Laurie Viera Rigler
3. Twilight (series) by Stephanie Meyer
4. The Underneath by Kathi Appelt
5. Suite Scarlett by Maureen Johnson
6. Cruel Summer by Alyson Noel
7. Ninth Grade Slays by Heather Brewer

Have fun in the sun & sand!

I just got back from Kauai where I read:
1. FROMMER'S guide to Kauai
2. THE BIRTH OF VENUS by Sarah Dunant
3. The first 45 pages of THE GOOD GUY by Dean Koontz, which I stopped reading so I could watch ACROSS THE UNIVERSE. Though please note this bears no reflection on Mr. Koontz, I'd simply been looking forward to that movie!

Have fun on vaca!

And thanks Julia for listing CRUEL SUMMER!!

Have a great trip, and enjoy your beach reading! Looks like you've got some good ones on the list.

Ooo, I've heard great things about The Good Fairies of New York. Let us know how it is!

If I were headed to the beach (I wish), I'd take:

Sweethearts - Sara Zarr
The Innkeeper's Song - Peter S. Beagle
The Monsters of Templeton - Lauren Groff
The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks - E. Lockhart
The Lost Girls - Laurie Fox

I recently found The Lost Girls hidden on the bottom shelf at work (I'm a librarian). It's a Wendy Darling thing, and I've always been obsessed with the idea of Wendy & Peter hooking up. Which, perhaps, is not something I should admit publicly.

But still. Looks fun.

Have a lovely trip!
